Kaija Lost Her First Tooth!
Can you believe it?!?!? Kaija lost her first tooth. I swear I got more emotional when I saw this, then when she started Kindergarten. She’s growing up!!
We made a Tooth Pillow this weekend in anticipation of her tooth coming out – she picked the fabric: a pink cat print fleece for the pillow and a green silk for her tooth pocket. We finished it just in time. Monday night, we got out of the car to pick up Chayton at daycare; Kaija told me that her tooth had bent backwards – “Great!” I said, “Did you know that you can turn it around in circles?”
That did it! By the time we were in Chayton’s room, her tooth was in her hand. Priceless! And thank goodness it happened so quickly and easily – as her sister is exclaiming that it’s bloody … whew … glad no one thought too much about that. But wouldn’t you know, Nazeriah was just as excited as her sister – “It’s so ‘citing, it’s awesome, it’s ‘mazing – I’m going to tell all my friends.” How sweet that she was so happy for her sister!
So, that night Kaija got out her Tooth Pillow and was all excited about the Tooth Fairy coming – but I think Nazeriah was even more exciting about the anticipated arrival of the Tooth Fairy. “Mommy, make sure you shut my door – but not all the way – just enough so that the Tooth Fairy doesn’t get confused and come into my room.” Hmmm … excited or a little worried about some strange fairy coming into her room that night??? The next morning, Nazeriah jumped out of bed, got dressed lickety-split, and started looking for the Tooth Fairy around the house. Sweetie! Of course, Kaija also jumped out of bed and checked her Tooth Pillow – and there was $1! I think that dollar is going to get wore out by all the handling it’s getting. 🙂
