Welcome Chayton Reddin Allen!
Thursday Morning was an exciting time for the Allen Family. Melissa woke up around 2AM with contractions and after just a few minutes they were only 5-7 minutes apart. We gathered our things, chatted with Kaija, as she woke up with all the activity, made a small pot of coffee (for Daddy of course!) and we were off. We got to the hospital a little after 3AM and after some minor tests Melissa walked to the delivery room (what a different experience from last time where Melissa went through 22 hours of labor and then had an emergency c-section). At exactly 4:46PM, Chayton was born. A healthy 8 lbs and 20 inches long little boy. The cries of a new born brought tears of joy to our eyes.
Chayton is Sioux for Falcon. Reddin was my (Courtney’s) Grandfather’s middle name and is one of my hero’s. It is German for Protecting Counselor.
Mom is doing great. She is such a strong woman, with a beautiful spirit. It is not only a joy to add another beautiful child to our family, but to share in this with such an amazing woman. Kaija and Nazeriah are excited to be big sisters, but are currently more excited that Grandma, Grandpa, Nana and Omi are going to be visiting over the next few weeks. We will wrap our arms around them to help them through this time of change – they are such amazing little girls. To quote Kaija “We need more boys in the house” – Dad tends to agree 🙂
Much Love to the Vural’s for their love and support – They dropped everything – and even awoke in the middle of the night to come over and watch the girls and get them off to school the next morning. We are lucky to have them as Family.
